As a Development Engineer, you will work on all aspects of spacecraft development while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.
Responsibilities:
- Own all aspects of component and/or system development
- Work with the design and manufacturing teams to produce hardware
- Ensure that the performance and function of the hardware meets intent
- Test preparation, planning and execution
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
- Deliver developed hardware to the point of spacecraft integration
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
- Hands-on experience working with fluid and mechanical systems
- Experience with CAD to design hardware
- Demonstrated ability in conceptual design, fabrication and testing of hardware
- Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working well in small team
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with emphasis on laboratory and/or practical applications
- Proficiency in basic principles of fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials
- Familiarity with analysis programming such as MATLAB, Excel, etc.
- Prior experience in development and/or testing
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Additional Requirements:
- Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed
