Technical Recruiter

Impulse Space is developing the next generation of orbital maneuvering vehicles for in-space transportation services. We are providing economical and nimble last-mile space payload delivery services to any orbit.

We are looking for an ambitious, razor-sharp recruiting professional who thrives in a startup environment to support the company’s growth for the foreseeable future. You will be given the opportunity to work across many teams and projects, while also helping set the tone for Impulse’s company values and culture.

In this role, you will partner with hiring managers and manage the whole recruiting process. You will focus on sourcing, screening, interviewing, offers and onboarding. You will carry a variety of requisitions – from Vehicle, Propulsion, Avionics, Integration, Manufacturing, and Operations teams. You will be juggling multiple priorities. In addition, you will assist with various recruiting projects – all while providing an excellent candidate experience. You must be highly engaged, take pride and ownership in your work, thrive in ambiguity and is able to lead your own projects to completion. You have a positive mindset and a “get stuff done” attitude, this is what differentiates startup recruiters from other large company recruiters. Collaboration is in your DNA. You think outside the box and enjoy solving problems. The position is based in El Segundo, CA. We are open to a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in full life cycle technical recruiting or 4+ years in non-technical recruiting
  • Ability to distinguish between good and great talent
  • Knowledge of U.S. technical markets
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both managers and candidates
  • Knowledge of various recruiting tools such as applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, Boolean Searches etc.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively cross teams
  • Ability to communicate challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of engineering skillsets in software, hardware, manufacturing, an operations
  • Successfull negotiation skills
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
  • Experience with high volume recruiting
