Avionics Electrical Engineer

_ El Segundo, CA

As an Avionics Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for clean-sheet design and testing of flight avionics components.


  • Clean-sheet design of avionics controllers, computers, and interface boards
  • Board-level design and component selection
  • Trade make vs. buy on a component-by-component basis­­
  • Develop power budgets for flight vehicles based on varying mission requirements
  • Own development and testing of assemblies from first articles through qualification testing
  • Work with designers, engineers, and technicians to optimize the design of spaceflight hardware

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in electrical engineering
  • 3+ years of professional experience in aerospace, aeronautics, or other relevant field
  • Proficient with analog and digital electronic design
  • Experience in design and production of PCBAs
  • Proficient in troubleshooting on board and system-level electronics
  • Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Experience with spacecraft and/or aircraft avionics system assembly and testing

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed
