Business Development Manager

As a Manager of Business Development you will own all aspects of customer and partner development at Impulse Space. This is a unique opportunity in that Impulse Space is developing a market for in-space transportation that has not been realized by any company. The implication is that any traditional notions of how space is developed in terms of launch, satellites, or payloads will not be applicable to the new business that will be developed.You will work closely with a fast-paced, agile team to leverage our capabilities in develop in-space services with Impulse Space orbital vehicles.


  • Work with the business development and operations teams to create a partner and customer development plan.Then execute on that plan along with other members of the overall team.
  • Work with the mission management team to coordinate customer activities, specifically for existing programs.
  • Interact with customer and partners on existing and new programs. This may involve both commercial and government customers.Government customers will be the US Government as well as select foreign governments. The interaction may be a combination of virtual and physical visits to the customer.
  • Maintain an opportunity plan for Impulse Space. This plan provides the sequence and priority of customer and partner opportunities.
  • Develop responses to customer requests in the form of RFI, RFP, or other requests for quotes.
  • Participate in space-related business and technical conferences or other space related venues.
  • Prepare, update, and deliver the standard Impulse space technical and business presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline. Equivalent industry experience can be substituted, if candidate has acquired said technical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability of taking account ownership

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Industry experience with satellite and launch businesses
  • Experience with business contracting
  • Experience with government contracting, budgets, and RFPs
  • Familiarity with start-up company growth


To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
