Propulsion Component Engineer

El Segundo, CA
As a Propulsion Component Engineer you will own all aspects of spacecraft component design from concept to product realization while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high performance in-space propulsion system from a clean sheet design.


  • Own all aspects component design from concept to product realization
  • Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
  • Perform fluid, thermal and structural analysis as required
  • Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
  • Resolve technical issues with innovative and scrappy solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
  • 3+ years of experience in valve or component design
  • Proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
  • Capable of performing structural and thermal analysis in support of design
  • Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
  • Experience with on-orbit propulsion components

Additional Requirements:

Flexible schedule and willing to travel to remote site for testing as needed
